Parent sessions
Parent sessions
For parents and guardians who want time on their own to plan, ask and breathe.
Some questions are hard to ask in front of your teen. These sessions are for the adults, with a clinician who knows your family plan.

What it is like, in five points
What sessions look like
Just the adults. We plan the next week of meals, rehearse what to say at the table and talk through what is going wrong.
The method
Parent coaching drawn from family-based treatment: meal planning, a shared plan between caregivers and steady words at the table.
What this is not
It is not therapy for your own history. If you want that, we will give you the names of colleagues.
Length and frequency
Your clinician sets the pace with you. Many parents come on weeks when the family sessions are not scheduled.
Insurance, a receipt for reimbursement or paying yourself, with a written estimate first.
Three questions about this service
Can both parents come?
Yes. Any adult who shares meals with your teen can come, together or on different days.
Will you share what I say with my teen?
Not without telling you first. We explain how information moves between sessions on the first call.
Can I come if my teen is in treatment somewhere else?
Often yes. Tell us who else is on the team, and with your written permission we keep in touch.
Would you like a session for yourselves?
Write to us, and we will find a time for the adults.
