Questions

What families ask most

Do you take my insurance?

We are in network with some commercial plans, and out of network with others. We do not take Medicare or MassHealth. Tell us your plan when you write and our coordinator checks your benefits before the first session.

Can I be reimbursed if you are out of network?

We give you an itemized monthly receipt (a superbill) with the dates and kind of session, to send to your plan, which may reimburse part of out-of-network care. It carries a diagnosis code your insurer can see, and your plan decides whether it pays anything.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of your costs before care begins. We give you one before your first session. If your final bill is $400 or more above it, you can dispute the bill. The estimate is not a contract.

How much does it cost, and how do fees work?

Your fee is given to you in writing before the first session, and it depends on the clinician and your plan. The How fees work page walks through insurance, paying yourself, receipts and estimates.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Health savings and flexible spending cards work like any other card at the end of a session.

What happens in the first session?

You, your teen and your clinician meet for 50 minutes. We explain how we work, what stays private and where privacy has limits, and agree what the next few weeks look like.

How often, and for how long?

Your clinician sets the pace with you. Sessions are usually weekly at first, and the gap grows as things steady. We do not promise a number of sessions.

Are your clinicians licensed in Massachusetts?

Yes. Each clinician's license class and board are listed on the About page and in the footer of every page, with the number the practice fills in.

What do I do in a crisis?

Call or text 988, any time, or call 911 in an emergency. If your teen has fainted, has chest pain, a very slow or irregular heartbeat, or cannot keep fluids down, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We are not an emergency service and messages are not read around the clock.

What stays private, and what does not?

Your teen's sessions are private, with limits the clinician explains on the first call, such as a risk of serious harm. Parents stay informed about the plan and about safety. We keep your records private and share them only as the law allows.

How does consent work for a teen?

A parent or guardian takes part in the first call, and your clinician explains the state's rules on consent and privacy for a teen. We do not promise care to a minor without that conversation.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours' notice to change an appointment. If you need to cancel with less notice, tell us and we will talk it through.

Is there a question left?

Write to us and we answer within one business day.
