Higher levels of care

When weekly sessions are not enough

Sometimes a teen needs more than an hour a week. Your teen's pediatrician and your clinician decide that together, and we say so early.

  • Day program

Several hours a day, most days, at a program, with the teen sleeping at home.

  • Intensive outpatient program

Several sessions a week, some after school, with meals supported at the program.

  • Residential program

Living at a program for a time, with round-the-clock staff.

  • Hospital care

For a teen who is medically unstable. Your teen's doctor decides when this is needed.

The referral

What we do when that happens

We do not hand you a list and wish you luck.

We help with the first call, send records with your written permission, and keep in touch with the program. When your teen leaves, we plan the step back to weekly sessions with you.

  • A first call made with you

  • Records shared only with your written permission

  • A plan for the step back to weekly sessions

If it cannot wait

If your teen has fainted, has chest pain or cannot keep fluids down, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
